KAIPARA ELECTORATE.
MR. J. G. COATES'S CAMPAIGN. [fIY TFXEGKAFH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Dabgaviixe, Sunday. The Government candidate, Mr. J. G. Coates, addressed a large meeting of electors at Kaihu last* night, and received an excellent hearing. He made a telling speech in favour of the Government, and received an almost unanimous and enthusiastic vote of thanks and confidence, an amendment of thanks only being supported by a small minority. During the past week Mr. Coates addressed large meetings at Tangaihi, Ruawai, Matakohe, Tangowahine, Avoca, and Kaitu. At each place he -was accorded votes of confidence, the farming element especially showing keen appreciation of the policy of the MSssey Government.
