THE EMDEN'S TREACHERY

FALSE FLAG AND SIGNALS

FATE OF THE JEMSCHUG. Times find Sydney Sun Sen-ices. (Received November 15. 4.30 p m.) London*, November 11. An eye-witness of the sinking of the Jemschug, asserts that the Linden was approaching Penang under false colours, and that she replied to the Russian cruiser's challenge with the signal " Yarmouth coming to anchorage." Before the officer on watch could reply the Kmdon swung stern on the Jemschug, tired a torpedo, and poured a broadside into her. Scarcely a man on the Jeraschug was saved.
