London, November 13.

The newspapers give remarkable stories of signalling by means of lights along the Yorkshire coast. Many questions have been asked in Parliament relating to .this suspicious signalling, and also to the prevalence of espionage.

The Home Secretary, Mr. R. McKenna, in replying to comment in the newspapers regarding the laxity of his policy for suppressing spies, said that throughout he had been guided by'military advice.
