SCHEME TO KEEP BELGIANS.

[BY telegraph.—tress ASSOCIATION.] Westfort, Wednesday. Thf, men engaged on the sewerage construction works recently issued a challenge to the Mayor, Mr. A. Leaver, a saddler, C. R. Harker, a cycle dealer, and C. McDonald, a lawyer, to work a shift of eight hours in the trenches, and they deposited £10 to go to the Belgian Fund if they accepted The Mayor and Mr. Harker have accepted the challenge, and will work from 6 a.m. till 3 p.m. to-morrow. The ladies have arranged to take up a collection among the onlookers on behalf of the Belgian Fund.
