ARRIVALS IN DOMINION.

DOMESTIC SERVANTS WANTED

Wellington, Tuesday. Tin-: annual report of the Immigration Department shows that the number of person, who arrived during the year from the United Kingdom was 12,266—9667 adults and 2599 children. Out of this total 5064 were assisted by the Government. Thdeclared capital of those who arrived by assisted passages, was £39.701. Of the 5061 assisted immigrants, 1138 were domestics, 943 farmers, and farm labourers, and 583 were children of farmers and farm labourers.

'1 he Massey Government's work in connection with immigration has easily proved a record since 1905. when the number of arrivals was only 1751. The nominated system has resulted in a steady stream of immigrants of the best type.

The number of domestic servants obtainable is far less than the demand, and special efforts are being made to consider, ably increase the numbers. Improved shipping arrangements have been provided. The Government's scheme of immigration of farm boys has given satisfaction.
