FRENCH CASH AND DARING.
FEAT OP THREE MEN.
PUT ENEMY TO FLIGHT.
Paris, October 20.
During a recent engagement on the French wing the French were unable to locate the German machine guns- Two corporals and I a private volunteered to discover where they were situated, and [crawled to within 10 paces of the 1 German trenches. Half the enemy had gone to fetch the mid-day rations, and the others were seated at a distance from the guns. The Frenchmen leaped into the trenches and fired the two machine guns on the Germans. The enemy fled, accompanied by two reserve companies, while French artillery completed the destruction of the recreating enemy.
Last week a section of French in,'antry, when reconnoitring, lost its way in a fog and were taken prisoners. The German captors, who stacked their rifles while waiting for the fog to dispel, beguiled the tedium of the day by insulting their prisoners. With a rush the latter broke the Germans' square, seized the rifles, and bayoneted many, while the remainder surrendered and were taken prisoners.
