Tho departure of the mission steamer Southern Cross for Norfolk Island has now been fixed for Wednesday. Owing to tho difficulty of obtaining sufficient coal for the vessel's requirements, the Southern Cross has made an unusually protracted stay at Auckland, extending now to 12 weeks. On the morning of the vessel's departure a service of Holy Communion will be held in All Saints' Church, and the Bishop of Auckland will preach. The white season has commenced. With it has come the daintiest white footwear in the colony. Now being sold at Pearson's Stores, Karangalwpe Road, Newton.
