HOCKEY.
LADIES' CHALLENGE CUPS. Tun preliminary rounds in the Belmore anil Ei-rnecker challenge cup competitions will bo played at Kemnora to-morrow afternoon. The Belmore Cup is a new challenge trophy for senior grade teams, and the first holders will, be decided by a tournament. The Bcrnecker Cup is for second grade teams, and is at present held by Training College, who will defend it. The final matches in both competitions will bo played on Saturday week as " curtain-raisers" to the England v. New Zealand ladies' match. In the event of goals being equal, " penalty corners" will count two points and " corners" one point, and if the scores are equal play shall continue until the deciding point is scored. The, draw for to-morrow, is a3 follows: — BELMQRE CUP. First Round: Waihora v. Training College, No. 1 ground. 2 p.m., Mr. E. E. Madden; Mount Eden v. Technical College. No. 4 ground, 2 p.m.. Mr. B. G. Bennett. Both the above matches will be played full time. Final Round: Winners in first round to play off on October 10. ' BERNECKER CUT'. First Round: Omapere v Otahuhu, No. 5 ground, 2 p.m., Mr. L. H. Norton; Campbell. Thistle and .Waihora, byes. Second Round: Thistle v. Waihora, No. 5 ground, 230 p.m.. Mr. S. Smith; Campboll v. winners of Omapore-Otahuhu match, No. 5 ground, 3 p.m.. Mr. L. H. NortonThird Round: Winning teams in second round play off on No. 5 ground at 3.45. The above matches to be of 20 minutes' duration only, in two spell 3of 10 minutes each. Challenge Round: Winner of tournament plays Training College, holder, on October 10. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW.
