BELGIANS CONTINUE THEIR GUERILLA TACTICS.

ATTACK ON ADVANCE FORTS OF ANTWERP REPULSED < \ ■ FIERCE FIGHTING EAST AND WEST OF MALINES, (Beceired. October I, 9.10 p.m.) Antwerp, September 30. The garrison continues its guerilla tactics. A sortie by night terrorised the German outposts. A German train was blown up, and the outposts were picked off. Despite the activity of the garrison the number of civilians killed and wounded is still in excess of the casualties of the Belgian soldiers. Desperate fighting began at Termondc, west of Malines, and Aerschot, east of Malines, on Sunday, and continued until Tuesday. The Germans on Sunday were heavily reinforced, until the combatants numbered nearly 150,000. Despite the superior German artillery, the Belgian battery at Audegan, after losing 17 gunners, silenced the German battery. The bombardment of Forts Wallhem and Wavre-St. Catherine, south of Antwerp, continues. The Germans attacked Forts Lierre and Breedouck. Several sorties from the garrisons succeeded in driving back the enemy. During the bombardment of Lierre, which is one of the advance ( forts of Antwerp, shells wrecked a hospital, killing four wounded soldiers and two women.
