TROUT-FISHING SEASON.

OPENING ON NOVEMBER 1. •The season for trout-fishing in the Auckland Acclimatisation Society's district will bo opened on November 1. The statement published yesterday that the opening date would be October 1 was incorrect. Representations have been persistently n.a,.c by the society for some time with, a view to persuading the Department ot ! Internal Affaire to advance the season by a month. When a report was made by .Mr. \j. F. Ayson, chief inspector of ] fisheries, that there was no reasonable j ground for delaying the opening of the season until November 1, the society anticipated that the desired change would oo made. Discussing the attitude of the Depart- ' ment yesterday, the president of the society, Mr. \V. 11.
