AUCKLAND CLUB.
Twelve representatives from the South Auckland club 3 played a series of matches with members of tin Auckland Club at Middlemore links on Saturday. 01 17 games played, members of the local club scored 11 wins to the South Aucklnnders' five, one match ending all square- The details of play fire a3 follows, South Auckland players being mentioned first: — Singles. S. Morpeth and W. B. Colbeck. all square; J. Banks beat F. J. Sharland. 6 and 8; A. H. Nicoll lost to G. F. Foote, 4 and 3; F. Seifert lost to J. B. Lusk, 1 down; M. Wells lost to P T. Upton, 5 and 8; E. J. Wilkinson lost to F. G. Binney, 6 and 5; D. R. CiHwoll lost to D. Hay, G and 5; H. Joyce beat E. Hickson, 1 up; H. P Nelson lost to E. W. Pay ton, 2 down' E. Fraser lost to S. A. CarT, 6 and 5; V. Holbecke beat H. G. Stringer, 3 and 2; C. Clendon boat H Henderson, 2 up. Four-ball; Morpeth and Banks lost to Colbeck and Sharland, 3 and 2; Nicoll and Seifort lost to Foote and Lusk, 4 and 3; Wells and Wilkinson lost to Upton and Binney. 8 and 1; Holbeche and Fraser lost to EicKSon and Stringer, 6 and 4; Joyce and Clendon beat CarT and Henderson, t> and 8. A bogey handicap played in conjunction with the above matches was won by G. F. Foote, who finished 4 up on the "colonel." The best of the other cards returned were G. 5 Pierce 2 up, P. Laurence 1 up and E. B. Bloomfield 1 up. In the semi-final of the junior championship, A. H. D Peel beat 8. Ruddock, 5 and 4; and S. Hanna beat C. O. Mahoney, 3 and 2. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. A - four-ball-beat-ball bogey handicap was played by members of the Maungakiekie I Golf Club on Saturday in fine weather. I The match was won by Green and Wilson. .who were nine up on the " colonel.' Other cards returned -were: Pavitt aoad Pea--1 cook, 4 up; G. Morris and Bees. 2 up; B George and Somerville, 2 up; Dr. Dudley and E. H. Eggleston, 2 up; F. Trice and Brabant, 2up G."en played an exceptionally good round of 70—42 out and 34 homo. WAITEMATA CLUB. The semi-final matches of the Waitemata Golf Club's junior championship were played on Saturday, when A. W. Clark defeated A. M. Pickford, 2 and 1; and C. Archer defeated A. H. Patterson, 7 and 5. A match between teams chosen by the captain and vice-captain will be played next Saturday. HAWKE'S BAY CHAMPIONSHIP. The annual golf championship tournament of Hawke's Bay was held at Napier last week, Kapi Taretta proving the winner, with F. C. Fryer, of Auckland, runner-up. The | scores in Tareha's four rounds were: 75, 81, 78. 87, total, 321; while Fryer's were 83, I 86, 80, 80. total, 329. H. T. Gillies was I fourth with a total of 338. F. C. Fryer and H. E. Troutbeck won the four-ball bogey handicap, 8 up on the " colonel."
