ARRIVAL OF REINFORCEMENTS FOR THE FRENCH.
ALLIES CARRYING OUT DELIBERATE PLAN.
ATTEMPT TO ISOLATE CROWN PRINCE'S ARMY.
(Received September 19, 4.35 p.m.)
Paris, September IS.
General Von Kluck is receiving reinforcements, partly from Amiens, partly from Belgium and Maubeuge, and partly reservists from Aix-la-Chapelle, via Liege.
General Joffre's reinforcements are ample, and are arriving by the railways that are bending round the Germans' right wing. The allies are acting deliberately. The French forces on- the northern edge of tho Argonne are slowly pushing a bold, somewhat dangerous, advance, intended to isolate the Crown Prince's army. The Germans are entrenched on the heights of Montfaucon, between the Argonne and the Meuse. Heavy rains continued on Thursday, making the
carriage of heavy guns on hilly roads very difficult.
An official statement issued in Paris at midnight on Friday savs that the allies have made a continual advance on the left wing. There is a slight lull in the battle.
The German headquarters staff has issued a statement in Berlin that there has been no decision to the battle between the Oise and the Meuse.
