BORN TO MURDER.
Pleading for her son, a notorious American criminal's mother declared at his trial for murder at Washington recently that he was born to a heritage of evil duo to her own fault. She urged that lid was thus the victim of pre-natal influences and was more a subject for pity than for punishment.
The young man was known as "Chippy" Robinson, and his mother said she Was wronged by a man who deserted her, and the shame of it killed her father.
The months preceding her son's birth, she said, were a terrible time, during which only misery and a desire for revenge were in her heart. Through those months, at the hour of the birth, and when she nursed the babe, her own brain was obsessed with plans of murder against the man who had wronged her. She had thought and schemed constantly of finding the man and shooting him. Her one thought in motherhood was to plot and plan to that end. Robinson committed suicide in prison.
