BAPTIST ANNIVERSARY.
Tun Baptist Tabernacle school hall w« filled last evening by members of th« church and congregation, on the occasion of a social held to celebrate the 59th anniversary. The room was tastefully I *' corated with flowers and flags. A huge Union Jack, used at the Delhi Durbar, was suspended beneath one of the central chandeliers, with the flag? of the allies on one side and those of Britain's overset dominions on the other side. The R* v -_ Knowles Kempton took the chair and brie: addresses were given by Mr. G. C. Garlick, Sunday-school superintendent, M r Horace Kendon. Endeavour secretary, Mr. W r H. Lamb, church treasurer, and M?T. F. Hill, church secretary. The choir, conducted bv Mr. A. K. Wilson, <•«»*>- buted a number of selections. Henri ussaeh, the bov violinist, played the solo- " Valse Triste." Si!*li'U>. for which he received an enthusiastic en'oro. Refreshments were served at the close of the evening.
