London, August 27.

The London Times' correspondent at Rome says that Italy is apparently calm and unmoved by the oven'ts of the war, but tho Adriatic coast is well guarded, and field troops arc massed on the Austrian frontier, everything being ready for the most popular war since the unity of the Kingdom was secured. Italy cannot long postpone a decision. The popular hatred against Austria is intense.

The Times, in a leafier discussing the position, says that thoso who know and love Italy best are confident that she will take her stand in the right pta at the right time.
