WOMAN'S EYE DESTROYED. [l)T ra.KGiuru.-ows coruksioxdkxt.] Raetuii, Friday. Ax unusual accident recently befel a resident named Mis. Jenkins, whereby she lost an eye. Having difficulty in extracting a glass stopper from a small bottle, she placed it in an oven with the idea of freeing the .'topper. On opening the oven it exploded in her face. Fragments of glass cut right through the upper and lower lids of one eye, and severed the eye, which war completely destroyed. Mrs. Jenkins, who was alono at the time, had the presence of mind to go to the house of a neighbour, but medical aid was unavailing.
