A GOOD IRONING BOARD.

_«. In selecting an ironing board, often one makes the mistake of getting a board too short for practical work. It is well to have tho board long enough to permit ironing a skirt from hem to band without moving the garment on the board. The board having been selected, attention should be given to tho matter of covering- If the board is well covered, the ironing will bo more expeditiously, as well as more satisfactorily, accomplished. There is nothing better for covering tho ironing board than two or throe thicknesses of padding, such as is used for silence cloths on the dining-table. Over this stretch a piece of unbleached calico. Old sheets are sometimes used but they soon look soiled, and tho task of recovering must be repeated.
