IN THE HOME.

<• MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS. A rrjXTßinrjTOß to Evervlady's Journal touches on a very real problem in the following article :—ln many homes whole there aro grown daughters there seems to be a continual growing inharmony between thorn and the mother. There are many points of contention; the daughter wants more liberty and the mother will not permit it; the daughter wants \ the house refurnished with the latest stylo of furniture, and the mother loves tho house the way it is and will not make any | change. There is constant demand on one side and constant refusal on the other. This contention brings about much distress in the home. Roth arc to blame. This friction and irritation should not be allowed to make inroads upon the love and trust between the mother and the daughter; lot the mother be frank with the daughter, talk over your disagreements, and do not be satisfied with a settlement that defrauds the other of consideration and full confidence. Keep the heart right, dear mothers, and the full understanding of each other will come. It is a good thing, sometimes, for the mother to allow the daughter to havo her own way in many things, even if unreasonable; she will find her own mistakes, and that her moMier is right nine cases out of ten. Hasten to smooth the friction in somo manner, and do not allow it to grow into permanent estrangement.
