: Berlin, July 15. A cOURT-martial has sentenced Sergeant Pohl to 15 years' penal servitude, 10 years' deprivation of civil and military rights, and dismissal from the army for espionage. Sergeant Fold's salary amounted to £84 P er annum. He was employed Upon clerical work at the military engineer headquarters, and thus had access to the plans. Desiring money, with a view to marrying, he sold the plans of Pillan fortress to Colonel Basaroff, of the Russian Embassy, for £25. Colonel Basaroff asked for the plans of the fortifications at Heligoland and Borkum. Sergeant Pohl secured sketches, and arranged a meeting, but was arrested in the interval.
