REPRESENTATIVE MATCH.

MANAWATU V. AUCKLAND.

The local representatives will meet the Manawatu representatives at Rcmjiera this afternoon, the match being timed to commence at three o'clock. The visitors will arrive by the Main Tunic express this morning from Hamilton, having played Waikato for the Nnrden Cup yesterday afternoon. Mr. T. Harold Hodgson is m charge of the team. This morning the local association will entertain the visiting team to a motorcar run to Titiranei. They will leave for home by to-night's Wellington ex- : press. I Local players are requested to be ready ■ to commence play sharp at three o'clock. 'The match will be controlled by Mr. R. H. Parton. The teams are as follow :—

A meeting of the executive committee iof the Auckland Hockey Association was held on Monday evening, there being present Messrs. The probi able itinerary will be :—To Awamutu, ?5; i Hamilton, 26; Cambridge, 27; and Rotorua, 29. NORDEN CUP CONTEST. ANOTHER WAIKATO SUCCESS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Wednesday. The Manawatu hockey team again essayed to-day to talc© the Norden Cup from the Waikato Association, but for the third time this season the local players proved too strong. The ground to a great extent was covered with water, and the refit was in a very heavy condition, rendering a scientific display impossible. In the earlier stages the local team attacked stropgly, and Fraser and Hunter secured goals, but in the latter half of the first spell the visitors forced the pace, Tucker finding the net, and half time saw the scores : Waikato, 2 ; Manawatu, 1. Atthei start of the second half the Waikato men were called upon to resist a,' strong attack, but the shooting was bad, and bv dashes Waikato was able to secure two more goals, Somers and Hunter being responsible for the final hits. In the latter stages Waikato attacked strongly, but failed to find the net. The game ended; Waikato, 4; Manawatu, 1. MATCH AT ROTORUA. [by telegraph—own CORRESPONDENT-] Rotortja, Wednesday. The hockey match played to-day between the Thames and Rotorua ladies' teams resulted in a win for the latter by one goal, which was scored in the first half. Rotorua easily held their own in this part of the game, but missed several good opportunities of scoring. In the second half the contest was very oven, but during the last few minutes the Thames players livened up and got into the circle several times.
