THE RECENT EXHIBITION.
SETTLING ITS AFFAIRS.
The settlement of the affairs of tho recent Exhibition (has now been almost I completed, some secretarial work alone remaining to be dealt with. A further sum of £2500 has been paid into the bank, making the total amount now,on deposit, £11,000. Practically all the buildings have been removed from the Domain, with the exception of the front of tho hall of industries and the two towers. These have been sold, and tho purchaser will remove the material shortly. The art gallery is being altered for the purposes of tho Auckland Horticultural Society, und the Government building is being left on its site pending a .decision as to its purchase as a cadets'* drill hall.
It is anticipated that in about a month the matters of detail now in hand will have been completed, when the fund available for the improvement of the Domain will bo dealt with by the subcommittee of the Exhibition executive set up to act in the matter with the Parte Committee of the City Council. The former committee consists of Messrs. A. M. Myers, M.P., 0. Nicholson, B. Buttle, G. Elliot, W. R. Holmes, and the Hon. E. Mitohelson.
Tho work of distributing certificates won by exhibitors is still proceeding. Those to whom these awards aro due are invited to apply for them to the secretary (Mr. W. It. Holmes). The sum of £30, voted by tho executive to tho Auckland Cricket Association, has been handed over.
