GIRL KILLED BY PANTHER.
A young girl, the daughter of Mr. Henderson, of the Indian Civil Service, was killed by a panther in a travelling menagerie at Jalgaon,. Khandesb, a few weeks ago. * , P6ur of Mr. Henderson's children, accompanied by their nurse, Went to visit the menagerie. An employee of the show had removed the panther and fastened it with a chain twderneath its cage. As the nurse and children passed the cage the panther sprang put and seized Mr, Henderson's second daughter by the head. She was rescued and-takon to an hospital, but had been so terribly mangled that she died of her injuries. The proprietor and manager of the menagerie and the employee whose carelessness is alleged to have been responsible for the tragedy, are being prosecuted by the police.
