FOXTON LOAN PROPOSALS.
[BT TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Fovrox, Friday. ALTERNATE loan proposals for a water and : drainage scheme for the borough were 1 submitted to a poll of ratepayers jester- ! day, viz.:—A gravitation scheme from ! Shannon Hills. £56,500. and an artesian scheme. £23.300; also a loan of £3000 for extension of gasworks. The proposals for both water and drainage were lost, ' bnt the gasworks loan was carried. Onlv ' 286 ratepayers out of a roll of over 600 I recorded votes. This is the second time I that the water and drainage loan proposals I have been rejected.
