MUNICIPAL TRAWLER.
WELLINGTON PROPOSAL. [BT TELEGE-APH.— COBRF.SI>fiVT)E.VT ] I Wellington, Friday. ' As interesting proposal came before tho City Council last night, embodied in a motion by Mr. R. Fletcher, as follows:— "That there should bo included in tho loan schedule to be submitted to the ratepayers, an amount not exceeding £100,000 for the purchase of a trawler, in order to provide a constant supply of fish for the municipal market." Tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) said that he did not think anything at all could be done with the proposal, because, the legal position was against it. The best thing Mr, Fletcher could do would be to bring it before the Municipal Association to obtain newer for tho council to bring it into efieft. ' Th 1 notice, "i r*f:iied to the Fir. ~:i .
