Lowe, G-—l, 6— 6—J.. Both generally favoured the baseline, but Parko scored many points by unexpectedly volloying tactics at the net He made several dazzling cross-court volleys on tho run. Dunlop defeated Heyden, —G, 0— 7—5. Brookes defeated Ritchie, 6—l, —0, 6—l. Despite the score, each sot was hard foueht. Brookes' never-failing skimming volleys triumphed ■ over Ritchie's baseline drivina. There wore many exciting volleys in the second set, but Brookes showed extraordinary anticipation at the net. In tho Mixed Doubles Doust and Miss Morton defeated Dunlop and Miss Aitchison, g J g -gj . In'the Men's Doubles, the brothers Yencken defeated Simond and Goldosborough, 6—4. 6-3, 6—3.
