WAHINE'S EXPERIENCE.

Christcwjrch, Thursday. The ferry steamer Wahine did not reach Lyttelton from Wellington until ten o'clock this morning, being three hours late. Speaking* to a reporter, Captain Aldwell described the trip a? being the roughest the vessel has encountered since entering the service, the south-west gale not moder* ating until the vessel was as far down the coast as Cheviot." ~'
It was then too late to make up lost time. The Wahino took some 14 hours on the trip, 'which' is the most protracted yet made by her. 4

DRAGGED HER ANCHORS.

Wellington, Thursday.
The small steamer" Waihi, which was anchored in the stream, dragged her anchors last night and stranded pear Ngahauranga.
She will be refloated, it is hoped, on to-night's tide.
LOCAL SHIPPING DELATED.
TALUNE'S ROUGH TRIP.
The rough weather which has prevadedi during the past few days has caused much delay to shipping. The Rosamond has been delayed at Tolago Bay and will, therefore, not leavo Gisborne for Auckland until tonight, while the departure of the Claymore from Onehunga for Kawhia and Raglan had to be postponed until nine o'clock this morning. The Taluqe, frpm the Qook and Society Islands, did not arrive until late last evening, owing to the rough weather encountered on the passage.
