Trf. monthly meeting of the Hobson County Council was held at Pargaville on Tuesday; present, Messrs V. Tronnson (chairman). I". C. Hawkins, B. C. New, S. 0. Barker, and W. Montgomery. The financial statement showed that the nonth's receipts were £807, and tho ex-., aenditure £1509. A debit bank balancc ,{ was reported. The allocations )f expenditure out of the county fund or the current year were made to the •ariouj ridings as followsAratapu. 2550 • Okahu, £450: Kopuru, £600; if&ungaru. £1100; Tahgiteroria, £900: iaihu, £1300; and Tangowahine, £1000 It was decided to proceed witl? the onnation of the old Whanu Road within 4 day?, and abandon the proposed nev •oad, "unless the council's proposals werigreed to bv the property owners. Tho ■equest of 14 settlers for a road to give m outlet to the Aotahi block at Tangly Gloria was deferred, and it was decided o erect three offices on the town wharf md lease them to shipmasters for £15 md £12 per annum. The clerk was instructed to visit the Public Works Office in Auckland and ■ndeavour to secure an early authorisation )f grants. , , It was decided to co-operato with nJI ither county councils to recover witbleld timber and flax royalties. A special rate of 2-Jd was struck over he Aratapu limp-lighting area. It wn* resolved to ask the Railway department to erect a danger post at \fi<ka crossing. . The chairman was appointed a delegate o attend the Canal Commission. The executive was empowered to deal villi the Kopuru Swamp drainage, and he ev.aincT was instructed to call tender? or improvements at Bradley slander, md for the breaking of metal ' \ranohue. , _ . „ .
