IMPROVING CONDITIONS

A comprehensive scheme, which has for its object the betterment of the conditions under which employees work and the creation of a mutual relationship between ploy era and employees, is now under consideration by the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association. Full details will not, however, be arranged until after the appointment of the new council at the annual meeting next month. The scheme includes a superannuation fund for employees, and also provision against loss through intermittent work. By mutual co-operation between employer and em ployee it is hoped to prevent industrial trouble and to better the lot of the worker. In order to assist in preparing the scheme, Mr S. H Beet has been appointed assistant secretary.
