WAIHI CLUB. - [BY TEtEOEAPH.—OWtf COBBESPONDENT.] • > Waihi, Wednesday. The annual distribution of prizes won during the past season on the Waihi bowling green, took place in the Masonic Hall on Tuesday evening, the president of the club v (the Rev. P. Cleary) occupyingthe chair. , The greater part of tho evening was devoted to a progressive euchre tournament, the lady's pnzo being won by Mrs'. S I Clark, and the men's prize by Sir. A. H. Clark.' The prize-winners were as follows:— Boxing Day tournament (pairs), Messrs. ' C. Flett and D. Moran: Miners' Union Day tournament (pairs), Messrs. T. Wakefield and C. J. Aickin; club champion (singles) Mr. W. Samson, runner-up Mr. W. Whitchurch; first year's champion (singles) Mr. S. Clark, runner-up Mr. B. Brown; Williams Cup (singles). Mr. J. Whitehead;, pairs championship, Messrs. W. Whitechurch and W. McConachio; president's handicap (singles), Mr. W. Whitechurch, runner-up Mr, A. C. Scandrett. CALLIOPE 'CLUB'S MEETING. The annual meeting of the Calliope Bowling Club was held in the club pavilion on Friday. The report and balancesheet were read and confirmed, and the members present expressed their appreciation of the work done by the executive officers. During the season the club, was represented at all tournaments, and though the teams did not win, they maintained the reputation of the club. Croquet was play«d at Stanley* green last year for trie first time, and about 18 ladies availed themselves of the privilege. It is anticipated that the membership will increase to. 25 this season. The. following officers were elected for the ensuing year. President, Mr.. Geo. Gribbin; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. G. Macindoo-and W. H. Bartlett; hon. sec- , rctary, Mr. H. Linder; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. E. Simmonds; hon. auditor, Mr. E.. S. Wight; match committee, Messrs. < E. S. Wight, G. M. Roid, and W. F. i Stevenson; committee of management, < Messrs. W. Mitchell, P, Ellis, F. Mulcrae, ,0. L. Jewell, G. M.' Reid, and A.
