FOOLHARDY FEAT.

MARKSMAN'S MISTAKE.

CIGARETTE ASH 'AS TARGET.

MAN SHOT IN THE CHEEK. I [BY nVEOMVS— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hammon", Sunday. An unfortunate incident occurred at the Waikato Winter Show last evening. One of the sharpshooters in a side-show Captain McLeod, undertook to knock the ash off a cigarette held in the mouth of anyone who liked to come forward. L. Wilson, of Newstead, offered himself, but, unfortunately, the aim of the marksman did not prove true, and the ballet penetrated Wilson's cheek, knocking out two teeth as it passed through his mouth. Dr. Rogers, who was in the building, promptly attended the injured man.
