PRIMARY -.INDUSTRIES, REMARKABLE-DEVELOPMENT RECORD EXPORT FIGURES, [BY TELEGIUrE.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] " Dunedin, Tuesday. I.v the course. of a speech at' the opening of the Winter Show, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, as Minister for Agriculture, gave some interesting particulars as to the remarkablo expansion of the Dominion's primary "industries. He • stated that for the year, ending March 31, the value of the principal products was £22,112,996, and the total increase of products and miscellaneous exports over the preceding period was almost a million and a-half. He showed that the proportion of agricultural exports to the total exports was remarkably high, increasing from 25 per cent, in 1863 to' 76 per cent, in 1093, and from 77 per cent, in 1903 to 85 per cent', in last year.

The'export of wool for the year ending Much 31, was valued af, £7,500,000, an increase compared witu the export 10 years ago of 17 per cent, in quantity, and 674 per cent, in' value.

The increase in frozen meat for 1913-14 was "5361,252, the highest for 10 years. Regarding lamb, tho increase of value compared with 10 years ago was 135 per cent., while beef (compared with same period) increased 109 per cent, in value.

New records wero established in butter and cheese, the value of exports increasing over 50 per cent, in 10 years. Regarding cheese, compared with 10 years ago the Dominion was exporting mere than BJj times tho quantity and more than 104 times the value. Tho Prime Minister believed that before long the export of cheese would reach the enormous total of 500,000 tons annually. The acreage under fruit culture increased. from 36,967 in 1912, to 41,6'16 this year. The export of fruit in. 1912 was 15,069 cases, while this year the quantity was 85,000 cases. For 12 months ending. March 31, 25,000 cases of apples were exported to Monte Video. Ho stated tliat considerable quantities were also going to Rio Janeiro, Vancouver, and San Francisco.
