BAND OF HOPE UNION.
In connection with the 34th anniversary of tile inauguration of the Auckland Band of Hope Union, an entertainment is to bo provided this evening in tho Town Half, commencing at a-quarter to eight o'clock. Dr. Florence Keller is to bo in the chair, The moat attractive part of the programme will be the action songs by 500 performers. A great snowballing scene will also be a feature of the evening. The 27th annual session of tho Christian Standard Band of Hope was held in the Church of Christ Chapel, Ponsonby Road, last evening, the building being crowded. Mr. Alan McElwaia rendered several of his humorous items, and humorous dialogues were given by tho Dominion Road Church of Christ Club. A little girl, Bona Tvler, also provided much amusement wilh her clever recitals. Items were also given by the Misses En-den, Whitehouse, Webb, Dixon, and Brame. A temperance address was delivered by Mr. Stewart. The gathering was a most successful and enthusiastic one.
