New Plymouth. Tuesday. Six charges of embezzling the funds of the Inglewood Borough Council and tne Moa Road Board were preferred against William de Grouchy Ogier at the Supreme Court to-day. The defalcations amounted to over £500. The prisoner, who was found guilty but recommended to mercy, stated tli; cause of his downfall to bs financial difficulties which were due to drink. Sentence was deferred.
