FIGURES FOR THE YEAR.

Wellington, Thursday. The Railway accounts for the four weeks ended March 31 show receipts totalling £383,710, and expenditure £247,985. The total revenuo for the- year was £4,043,327, and the expenditure £2,880,322, or 71.24 per cent, of revenue. For the previous 12 months, ended March 31, 1913, the total revenue was £3,971.001, and the expenditure was £2,705,609, or 68.13. The percentage of expenditure compared with revenue for the North Island main lines and branches for the year just closed was 70.24, and .for the South Inland main lines and branches 73.48. For the whole of the lines of each island the respective percentages were 70.29 and 72.39. Following are the details of the yearly figures:— NORTH ISLAND.
