A splendid edition of the Auckland Weekly News is on sale to-day. The illustrations are topical and varied. The shocking railway collision at Exeter, New South Wales, is responsible for the publication of a print depicting one of the telescoped carriages where nearly all of tNi 14 victims met their fate. Ngaruawahia regatta is the subject of a full page of snapshots which depict many of the events of this popular carnival. Three views of the last trial flight of the Scha-ef monoplane in Wellington are introduced. These illustrate the accident which crippled the machine two days prior to its entire destruction by fire. Amongst numerous other subjects illustrated are the Prime .Minister's tour in the Pelorus Sound, two big reclamations on the Auckland waterfront, the fete held last Saturday in aid of the Plunket- Nurse Society, the State opening of the present I session of the British Parliament, Day's l^ a . v - Wellington, which has been purchased by the people of the capital city as a public park, Ruapehu from a new viewpoint, improvements in the town of \\ airoa, Hawke's Bay, Wellington rowing regatta, the Irish national game of hurling, played for the first time at Auckland, Dominion engineers in conference, the Linda Glacier, Mount Cook, where the recent tragedy occurred, and Dunedin'a newlv-erected technical college. The portraits of the new Governor-General of Australia and his wife alfo appear.
