New York, March 18. After Commander Evans had lectured to a gathering in »tho Carnegie Hall on the story of Captain Scott, Rear-Admiral Peary, the hero of the North Pole, deplored America's lack of interest in Polar exploration.

Sir Ernest Shackleton, Mr. J. Foster Stackhouse, Dr. Mawson, and Dr. Koenig, the speaker pointed out, were doing great things for their respective countries, but the United States was conspicuous by her abisence from the field.
