MEAT FOR THE ARMY.
MINISTERIAL STATEMENT.

London, March 14. In discussing the Army Estimates yesterday, in the House of Commons, Mr. R. Hunt (Unionist M.P. for South Shropshire) asked whether the War Office orders for Australian meat had been reduced because the meat was infested with a parasitic worm.
Colonel Seely (Minister for War) replied that it had been found necessary to excise a portion of the carcase to make sure that such a parasite was not present. This applied to all meat imported from Australia.
