The suffragettes in the early morning smashed many windows of Mr. MrKenna's house at Westminster. Six of the women, who did the damage, were arrested and sentenced to two months' imprisonment with hard labour. Mr. McKenna was absent, from his house at the time of the outrage.

Owing to the fear of the suffragettes a number of pictures by Watt and Hoi man Hunt have been removed from the art galleries to places of safety.
