London, March 14. A m!Vßa<;kttk mooting, presided over li\ Mrs. Flora Drummund, one pf the heads of the militant cause, was held yesterday in the Ulster Hall. Belfast. The proceedings wop' of a disorderly character.
Croat anger was aroused among tJi.iM' present when Miss Dorothy rivaii-', who was one of the deputation that had sat on Sir E. Carsun doorstep in London, announced thai the suffragettes had decided to make war on Sir Ed ward.
The hitter's name was repeatedly cheered, while snuff and evil-smell-ing bombs caused great discomfort to the speakers.
All the speakers were shouted cJi vn, and the proceedings closed with the majority singing the National Anthem.
Mrs. Pankhurst was released from Holloway yesterday after a hungerstrike under the " Cat and Mouse Act.''
The suffragettes in the early morning smashed many windows of Mr. MrKenna's house at Westminster. Six of the women, who did the damage, were arrested and sentenced to two months' imprisonment with hard labour. Mr. McKenna was absent, from his house at the time of the outrage.
Owing to the fear of the suffragettes a number of pictures by Watt and Hoi man Hunt have been removed from the art galleries to places of safety.
