try-keepers' Association was held in tha Trades Hall on Saturday night, when several matters pertaining to the advancement of the poultry industry were freely discussed. It was decided that a big general meeting be called for Saturday tha 28th iiist. and that all those interested in poultry culture be circularised with a, view to getting them to attend. The objects and rules of the association and other matter* will be discussed, aa:d delegates for ilia coming poultry conference at Wellington will be elected. Several remits wore accepted for presentation to the poultry conference. The principal of these are: —That the Government be asked to supervise the present* egg-laying competition held in Christ* church: to start an egg-laying competition at Ruakura Experimental tsta ,; ou; to have more experimental work done in connection with egg-laying competitor s; to movsfl in the direction of obtaining s lituble provision for the carriage of eggs to Vancouver ; to have eggs graded lor export by. Government; to have the duty abolished on. poultry appliances; to retinue the longdistance freight on eggs; to regulate t}y» marketing of eggs and goultjy.
