TAMAKI WEST ROAD BOARD.
Thk ordinary meeting of the board was held on Friday. Present : Messrs. G. F. Campbell (chairman). J. W. Andrews, K. Brookfield, and E. Pilkington.
A letter was received from the secretary of the School Committee asking the board to form a path round the cliff in order that the children might get safely to and from school at high tide. It was resolved to reply that the board was considering the matter, but the question of riparian rights had to be considered, and might prove a serious difficulty. A letter of strong complaint was received with reference to cattle straying on the roads. The owner attended the meeting, and the board advised him to keep his cattle off the road or he would be prosecuted, in addition to the cattle being impounded. Mr. D. M. Davies waited upon the board in regard to the final details of the agreement for the lighting scheme, and this board resolved to meet on Friday next to sign and seal the agreement.
