GLASS STEADILY FALLING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received March 13, 9 p.m.) Suva, March 13. Wireless reports have been received here that the mail steamer Ventura, bound from Sydney to San Francisco, was severely buffeted by a hurricane 250 miles from the group. Advices from the island of Taviuni, report a, heavy gale, accompanied by lOin of rain, last night. No damage is yet reported from the island. Suva was threatened by the hurricane, and the alarm signals were hoisted, but the danger passed by to the south-west. The Lau Group and Samoa will probably be affected.
