NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 London, February 6. Dr. T. Hope Lewis, Mrs. Lewis, and Mr. T. G. Lewis, booked by the Mongolia for Wellington. The vessel left London this morning. The Hon. W. Pember Reeves, who has been prominent in the Hellenic agitation, is at present on a visit to Greece. The University of Athens has conferred upon him a doctorate. Sir Hartman Just, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, will spend three weeks in New Zealand and eight weeks in Australia. He will be in South Africa until March 7, whence lie will sail for Adelaide.

The High Commissioner for New Zealand (Hon. T. Mackenzie) was present on Wednesday at a meeting of representatives of the various emigration societies, called together by the Victoria League in order to discuss the question of emigration.

Callers at the High Commissioner's offico during yesterday" and to-day included : Mrs. E. J. Short (Auckland), Mrs. Schaedlich (nee Miss Daily Galbraith, of Auckland), and Mr. J. Elam 1 ounds (formerly of Auckland and Christchurch, now of Melbourne).

Mr. H. C. Cameron, Produce Commissioner for the New Zealand Government, was last week lecturing m , the north of Scotland. He spoke at Portsoy, Banff, and Buckie m each case giving a graphic account of the Dominion, and detailing the many opportunities awaiting those from the, Home country who are desirous of trying their fortune there.
