HARBOUR EMPLOYEES.

The Auckland Harbour Board employee* held a, social in Manson's rooms last evening, Mr. J. H. Bradney, M.P.,-a,-member of the board, presiding. Among: the guests were Mr. H. B. Burnett (secretary) ■ and 'Mr. D. Holdiness, of the engineering staff. An apology for absence was; received from Mr. J. H. Gunson, chairman of the board. A large number of employees and their lady relatives and friends were present. Supper was served and a varied programme of musical items and recitations - was given. The programme was contributed to j by Misses Wynn and Lucas, .Mrs. .Bethnne, and Messrs. A. Taylor, W. Sherratt,. H. Stanway, H. B. Burnett, J. Bickertpn, J.. Whit-bury, W. Lucas, and Monnock. .The ' prizes won at the recent picnic were.presented by Mr. Bradney, who, ' in a neat speech, referred to the happy relatione existing between the board and its employees. He asked those present if; they J had, or ' thought they had, a grievance, not to nurse ! it but to lay the matter before the board. ' The meeting broke up amid cheers for th» •' chairman and members of the board. ~:.•
