FIRST SOCIAL GATHERING;,
Natives of Scandinavia who are ■ resident in Auckland have formed, a social club, with a membership already exceeding-. 100. The following officers have 1 een'.elected: Patrons,-Messrs. R. Millar (Vice-Consul for Norway), P. M. Hansen (Vice-Consul for Denmark) and S. J. Nathan (ViceConsul for Sweden); president, Mr. H. -E. Hansen; vice-presidents, Messrs. G..Wigg, N. Johnson, and H. Holm committee, Captain Olsen, Messrs. A. Henricksen, E. and N. Holm, and F. Larsen'; secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. C. Jorgensen. ' The first gathering of the dub w;as_.held in the Tui tearooms last week, -with' an attendance of about 50 members. Among those present was one of- the patrons. Mr. Millar. Opportunity was taken to extend good wishes to. Mr. "Hansen, who is leaving shortly on.-a-.visit ft> Norway. Mr. Wigg presided over the subsequent proceedings, and in explaining the objects of the club as a means. of keeping the people ot Scandinavia'in'communication, said thai it would-be .sp;"c6nducted that no behaviour within it.
