SCHNEIDEMAN'S ISLAND CORNER STORE. It is not very long since Messrs. Schneideman Brothers, Ltd., recognising the need for a thoroughly up-to-date establishment for ladies' and gentlemen's clothing, and men's wear, erected the Island Corner Store, at considerable expense, on the corner of Queen and Durham Streets. At the time of erection it was the only store in the Dominion with windows on the "island" plan. Their business has developed more rapidly than was anticipated, with the result that they have found themselves pressed for room. As they are specialists in ladies' and gentlemen's clothing, 'naturally that branch of their business progressed more rapidly, and as it was impossible to increase the space, the only thing left to do was to sacrifice their large boot department to R. Hannah and Co., Ltd. The space ultilised for boots is now being altered, and next week will be occupied with men's clothing and mercery. New season's tailor-made, ready-to-wear costumes, coatfi, and suits, and latest importations of men's wear are now being opened up and displayed. Full particulars ■will be advertised in due course.
