I JUDGiNG THE DISPLAYS. APPOINTMENT OF JURORg. The attendance at the Exhibition yesterday, although it naturally showed a considerable falling-off as compared with the preceding pnnod during which the band • of the Royal Artillery was still the centre of attraction, was fairly satisfactory. A total of 2160 persons passed through the i gated, of whom 1334 were adults and 176 children who paid for admission, and 650 were season-ticket holders. The sum of £2 6* dd was taken at the art gallery. A noticeable feature is the increasing number of i .uniry visitors who are attending .he 1,: fair. The executive has not vet altered its decision to close the Exhibition i.'i March 28, but there is a probability thai the matter will be reconsidered, and that the period may be extended to about. April 18, in order to include the Faster season.

Poore, Martin Duff, and the Lyrn Four. Mr. Harold Gregson acting a; com pan tat. Tonight the Auckland City Band will play a .selected" programme, and to-mor-row niijht the Onchunga Band, and on Saturday the Auckland Garrison Band, will occupy the rotunda. On Saturday night another fireworks display is to be given, which will include set pieces and an aerial display. A baby show is bein; organised for Saturday. 14th inst., and the attractive prizes offered are expected to draw not onlv town but also country entries. The judges will be wellknown l.val doctors and a ladies' committee.

Before the close of the Exhibition a series of carnivals is to be held and also' a floral fete. Making the Awards. A nirotii!£ of the Judging and Awards Committee was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. L J. Bagnall presiding. There were also present: Messrs. S. J. Harbutt, G. Frascr. and W. R. Holmes (secretary). 1 The judging regulations were read, and these .stated that the classification of articles shall follow the schedule as published in the official catalogue, but the Executive Committee shall have power to amalgamate or subdivide classes if the necessity arises. A separate jury, consisting of three members, shall be appointed to make awards for each section. One of the jurors in each section shall be elected by the exhibitors and one by the Executive Committee; the third juror shall then be appointed by the two already elected. The meeting then proceeded to elect the jurors who will act on behalf of the Executive Committee as follows — Group 1 (fine arts), 20 competitors, 29 entries, Mr. F. Wright; group 2 (music and musical instruments), 11—18, Dr. W. E. Thomas; group 3 (education and apparatus for physical training), 2—2, Mr. H. A. E. Milnes; group 4 (furniture, house decorations, and fancy goods), 34—38, Mr. F. N. Andrews, Sir. G. W. Allsop, and Mr. W. Dickey; group 5 I pottery and glass), 10—10, Mr. W. Rowley; group 6 (jewellery and clocks), 7—ll, Mr. Wm. Coltman; group 7 (paper, printing, and stationery). —6, Mr. R. L. Stewart; group 8 (textile fabrics, leather, rubber goods, and clothing), 27-41. Mr. W. Johnson, Mr. Geo. Court, son , Mr. J. Hodgson, Mr. J. A. Bradstreet, and Mr. W. Nelson; group 9 (food, including drinks), 63—101, Mr. G. Sinclair. Mr. J. M. Mennie, Mr. J. Arreil, Mr. J. Moginie; group 14 (cutlery and firearms), 17 —21, Sir. F. Moginie; group 15 (road carriages, motors, and bicycles), 12—22, juror to be appointed; group 16 (machinery and tools), 11 —12, Mr. Geo. Fraser; group 17 (steam engines and railway plant,) 4—5, Mr. G. Fraser; group 18 (naval architecture and engineering), 7—lo, juror to be appointed; group 19 (civil engineering, etc), B—l4, Mr. W. E.
