DERAILED SPRINKLER.

TEAM SERVICE DELAYED.

The Ponsonb'y tram service was partially interrupted yesterday morning by the derailment of one of the big tramway water sprinklers in Ponsonby Road, a few chains from the reservoir corner. The heavy vehicle ran off the rails to such an extent that-its replacement was a long and difficult undertaking, and an emergency service had to be ran on one of the tracks, the passengers transferring from car to car to pass the -obstructing vehicle. Fortunately the mishap did not interfere with the traffic at the busiest part of the day.
