NEW ZEALANDER'S DEATH.

SUICIDE IN VANCOUVER.

Suicide by inhaling illuminating gas" was the verdict of the jury which inquired into the deatfc of Maurice Banassey Martin, a New Zealander, aged 25, who was found dead in his • room in a boardinghouse in Vancouver on January 26. The evidence submitted to the jurymen showed that the deceased had put a 25 cent piece into the slot in the gas-stove and turned on the gas. He had then put his nose to the jet and inhaled the poisonous gas. There was nothing to show what motive had led to his action, Martin having taken rooms there only two days previously. He was a single man, and when the last mail left efforts were being made to find his relatives.
