GIRL'S NARROW ESCAPE.
San- Francisco, February 21. A beactutl girl, 18 years old, had a melodramatic welcome to Seattle. On, leaving the train she hired a taxi-cab, which immediately set off at a great pace, while a nan hidden in the cab seized her in his arms. The wild ride lasted for an hour, the girl struggling and screaming till at last she succeeded in throwing herself from the machine while it was travel- y ling at 30 miles an hour...
