VICTORIA RACING CLUB.

AUTUMN MEETING CONTINUED. WALLALO WINS AUSTRALIAN CUP. SUCCESS OF NEW ZEALAND RIDER. By Telegraph—Proas Association—Copyright. (Received March 3. 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, March 3. There was fine weather for the continuation of the autumn meeting of the Victoria. Racing Club at Flemington, and again. there was a, large attendance, including all gubernatorial parties. The inquiry into the running of Wallalo on Saturday, after his failure on the previous Saturday, when fancied, was an exciting topic, especially when the fact that his win in the Essendon Stakes made him stand out as a likely cup winner. The officials accepted the owner's explanation, and the horse duly won the cup in great style. Hector Gray, who rode- Wallalo, only arrived a. few hours prior to the Essendon Stakes race Ho rode a splendid race in the cup, which was run in rocord time. Uki's performance was very exceptional, and Wallalo was the only horse to get his measure after ho had led nearly ail the way. Sea Prince was suffering from a split hoof.
